It was a cold January 29th 1986 when the world celebrated an extraordinary event. The automobile became one hundred years old. Exactly hundred years before a young man living in Mannheim got the first patent for his drivable vehicle with engine. It was the visionary engineer Carl Benz (1844-1929) living in Mannheim Germany, the son of a train conductor.
